課程概述

本密集課程的目標在讓學生了解抗病育種相關的實務,透過討論實例,並到現場參訪與育種家對話,實際練習病害反應調查,觀察抗病篩選試驗設計,了解抗病育種的原因、育種策略、及實際執行方式;每年會依作物及病害性質選擇研究單位及價值鏈相關單位參訪,此次課程將參觀位於台南的世界蔬菜中心及農友種苗種苗公司的番茄育種,提供學生了解針對雙子星病毒的抗病育種,並且比較非營利及營利育種的差異,參訪日期為5月11日(週六)。除了「作物抗病育種 (Agron 5071) 」,建議學生能先修過「作物育種學 (Agron 3005) 」與「植物病理學 (PPM3013) 」;課程無法請假,請確定日期後再選課;如果選課人數超過修課人數上限,會讓修過Agron 5071的同學優先修課。
The objective of this mini-course is for students to understand practices related to breeding for disease resistance. Real cases will be discussed. Then visits will be organized during Spring, when they will have face-to-face dialog with breeders, practice on evaluation of disease reactions, observe experiment design, and understand why breeding for disease resistance, its strategy and implementation. Each year, research and development institutions along the value chain will be visited. This year we will visit the tomato breeding programs for Begomovirus resistance at World Vegetable Center and Known-You Seeds at Tainan. The visit date will be on 11th May (Saturday). Other than Agron 5071, it is highly recommended that students took both Agron 3005 and PPM 3013;Leaves will not be granted. Confirm your availability before selecting this course. Students taken Agron 5071 will have priority for signing up the course in case of larger than 18 students selecting the course. 

課程目標
透過實例討論,並到現場觀察與實習,讓學生了解育種家進行抗病育種的原因及執行策略。
Through case discussions and hands-on evaluation on disease reaction, on-site observation, and face-to-face dialog with breeders, students will understand why breeding for disease resistance and how it is implemented.
